St. Petersburg Historical Tour #3 -The Jungle Area
One of the most interesting and beautiful areas (as well as one of the oldest) in St. Petersburg is the “Jungle” area. Located on Boca Ciega Bay bordering Park St., it is the alleged landing place of Spanish explorer, Panfilo de Narvaez, on April 15, 1528. The mansions in this area are among St, Petersburg’s most elegant. Many are not visible from the road but some are, so the short trip down Park St. from Saffron’s Restaurant at 1700 Park St. to the Casa Coe Da Sol at 510 Park St is well worth taking.
